What’s New on Kindle eReaders?

The new Kindle eReaders interface isn’t exactly rewriting the book on navigation. However, it looks a bit more streamlined and modern than the previous interface, which was released in 2016.

The Home and Library sections are getting a refresh with new filter and sort menus, a new collections view, and an interactive scroll bar. There’s also an option to swipe to the left to get access to 20 recently read books.

The update is coming to 8th Gen and above Kindle eReaders, 7th Gen and above Kindle Paperwhite devices, and Kindle Oasis hardware. If you own an older Kindle, you’ll have to stick with the previous interface.

How to Update Your Kindle

If you’re the owner of a Kindle device looking to get the update, make sure to connect it to its charger and your Wi-Fi network, as that’s the only way it’ll actively download the update. Once you’ve done that, follow our Kindle update guide that breaks down the process step-by-step.

This update is rolling out gradually, so if you follow our guide and don’t see the update, that means it hasn’t rolled out to your device yet.
