If there’s one thing you probably didn’t expect to read today, it’s that you’d be able to play PC games on your Xbox console. Thanks to NVIDIA GeForce Now, you can play all sorts of PC games, including those on Steam, through Edge on your Xbox.
In total, there are more than 1,000 PC games available on GeForce Now, so you’ll have no shortage of options to choose from on your Xbox console.
GeForce Now is a game streaming platform, so you’ll need to have a good connection to enjoy the games on offer. Assuming you do, you can play popular games like Dota 2, League of Legends, and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive on your Xbox. We never expected these games to be playable on console, so getting to experience them through GeForce Now is fantastic.
Important to note is that the Edge browser on Xbox supports a mouse and keyboard, which is all but required for games like Dota 2 and League of Legends. These games are not tuned to work on a controller, so being able to hook up PC control mechanisms is critical.
According to early reports from The Verge, the experience using GeForce Now on Xbox isn’t great since the virtual keyboard appears and there’s some latency, but it’s a good starting point for playing PC games on the console.
If you want to give it a try, you need to head the Edge browser on your Xbox and head to GeForce Now’s website. From there, you can log in (assuming you have an account) and start playing PC games. Again, the experience isn’t perfect, but it definitely could be worse.
