The feature is similar to creating a voicemail greeting on your phone. When someone presses the doorbell button, your selected message plays—after a set time—and the person can leave a message for you. It’s pretty cool.

To get started, open the Ring app on your iPhone, iPad, or Android device. Tap the gear icon for the device that you want to enable Quick Replies on.
Next, select “Smart Responses.”
You’ll see some information about how the feature works. Tap “Enable Feature” to proceed.
Now, we can adjust a few things. First, select “Response Time” and choose a time length. This is what determines how long to wait after the doorbell is pressed before the Quick Reply message is recited.
Next, select “Quick Reply Message.” This is where you can decide what the message will be.
At the time of writing, there are six messages to choose from. You’ll hear the message recited out loud when you select it. Tap “Save” when you’re done.
If you have a Ring Premium subscription, you’ll see the “Quick Replies” listed in your History. Ring Free users can only hear the responses from the live view.
Some of the Quick Replies are more specific than others, so you can switch between them for certain situations. This might not be something that you want to have enabled all the time, but it’s good to know that your Ring Video Doorbell can do it.
